Traditional Dj

Another sketch from my pencil. A man is getting speaker ready for upcoming wedding  somewhere in Punjab. This set up is rarely seen these days. DJs and high profile parties in big cities have eaten up punjab's traditional thing such as depicted in this sketch.

during those days wedding parties would last about month and this set up was a visible indication of wedding house in villages.

Next village

Next Village of punjab. Reminds me of old days I spent in my village. A place where time stands still and people living their simple lives, no hurry, deep sense of belogingness.

I have used coloured pencils for the first time and try to capture the peace of village

reference picture taken by my cousin Gurinder.

mesmerising places

Local Religious Place Village Khattra Punjab India
Life and destiny can take you to far flung places. You wake up and things around you get changed in a blink of an eye. You become busy with your routine. You run here and there for no reason. Life becomes machine and we act like an automatic robot. We like to forget everything, old days, old places and even old personality. We leap From present to future like an enthusiastic gymnast.but in this race we always forget that there are some places that are still waiting for us to come back and they never change. Old places where we have spent our childhood. This sketch is dedicated to those places that never change.
This is the local Gurudwars of my village khattra chauharam Punjab. I have seen development at every corner but this religious place is still the same.

I have tried to capture the serenity of this place at the time of dusk. Rhythmic hymn emanating from this place can mesmerise you. Long live these places.

initial work

my nanaji

It was fun creating the tears.

my another landscape work. old english hut in winter season

well this sketch reminds me of "jungle book" this is my very old sketch i did in 2007

my neice, i gifted this sketch to my cousin

Kamauni guy

It was new challenge for me to create every line on his face. here is the outcome.

The village

My pure imagination resulted in rustic scene. A small village on the bank of river and great banyan tree adoring the campus. A small gurudwara and some houses. The Punjab before partition.

extinct dreams

I have tried to use colours first time and I'm happy with the outcome. I took this picture when i was in my village. Still some of them are left in the village but soon they all will be gone one day. My caption "extinct dreams" reminds me of my childhood. I wanted to caputure all the peacocks who used to come on our rooftop and wanted to keep them with me all the time.

God bless the peacocks of my village.
