Digital painting Part 3

I have been concentrating on my digital paintings for quite a while for two reasons, one I have become lazy doing proper pencil sketch and second Its very easy to do digital painting even in staying in the bed but I don't want to make It my habit of doing some technological work. Pencils have always been great and fun and soon I'll be producing another sketch.

Well lets concentrate on my current blog which is "Digital painting Part 3". The fort in the painting was done by me ( www.facebook.com/maniisart) long time ago and I have just given some digital touch to it. Please enjoy and share.

Digital Painting 1

 this is my first experiment with sketch book pro software. unlike pencils and pencil colors, there is no freedom while coloring or drawing the subject. well this is my first atempt and here is the outcome

i hope you guys will enjoy.  

The Gaze

khhaalasaa kaal purakh ki fauj ||
Khalsa is God's Army

ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮ ਕੀ ਮੌਜ ॥ 
pragattiou khhaalasaa pramaatham kee mauj ||
It's sustained by the Will of the Almighty

ਜਬ ਲਗ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਰਹੇ ਨਿਆਰਾ ॥ 
jab lag khhaalasaa rehae niaaraa ||
While the Khalsa remains pure

ਤਬ ਲਗ ਤੇਜ ਕੀਉ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰਾ ॥ 
thab lag thaej keeo mai(n) saaraa ||
I will give it all my strength

ਜਬ ਇਹ ਗਹੈ ਬਿਪਰਨ ਕੀ ਰੀਤ ॥ 
jab eih gehai biparan kee reeth ||

Traditional Cooking

Traditional "Tauri"on "Chulla". A superb cooking instrument from bygone era. Symbol of patience and an art of cooking on slow heat. The Punjab's famous dishes like Dal Makhani, Saro Da Saag and other dishes originated from this cooking method.

This set up has been replaced by modern cooking instruments and Its hard to find "Chulla"in Punjab's village these days.

 Color pencils and normal lead pencils on 140 gsm paper.

My First SKETCH>>>>

well this is my first commissioned work. actually its not exactly commissioned but for practice sake I've done portrait of my friend and her partner. I haven't showed it  to her and I don't know how she will react to this portrait. I've tried my best to sketch them but  there  are  shortcomings which always go unoticed. I will never be satisfied with my sketches.

Acrylic color on canvas. The camping experience under moon light in deep jungle somewhere in himalayas. This is what I,m planning and I look forward to going there very soon.

Vaisakhi_special

This is very common theme in Punjab. Tubewell or "Bumbi" in Punjabi - is a center place of field that provide water to whole field.  A soothing hangout in hot summers for people toiling hard under scorching heat of sun. Many folklore originated from here as well.

Rivers of punjab are great, serene and quiet. Scenic beauty at the time of dusk can make you feel divine.

This sketch dedicated to such canal called "sidwa canal" where I have spent some good time with my friends ....

Trees at hamilton lake

"Trees at hamilton lake" painting gives me immense satisfaction that My coloured pencils art is showing postive results and top of that, trees have been my favorite subject for painting so far.

Traditional Dj

Another sketch from my pencil. A man is getting speaker ready for upcoming wedding  somewhere in Punjab. This set up is rarely seen these days. DJs and high profile parties in big cities have eaten up punjab's traditional thing such as depicted in this sketch.

during those days wedding parties would last about month and this set up was a visible indication of wedding house in villages.

Next village

Next Village of punjab. Reminds me of old days I spent in my village. A place where time stands still and people living their simple lives, no hurry, deep sense of belogingness.

I have used coloured pencils for the first time and try to capture the peace of village
